POSITION SUMMARY:
Manages the daily activities of the warehouse to include inventory control, material movement and shipping/receiving in accordance with inventory control procedures, quality, and safety requirements. Manages inventories for both raw and finished materials. Ensures all in/out bound shipments are processed according to company shipping standards. Negotiates with transportation companies to ensure company cost reduction requirements are achieved. Works closely with managers to ensure company policy, goals, and objectives are met.
PRINICIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manages warehouse operations; oversees all transitions and receipts of goods and inventory, internally and externally
- Uses ERP system to process orders through all shipping and receiving stages
- Coordinates internal materials distribution to and from production lines and movement of finished materials within the plant
- Recruits, trains, and supervises personnel; addresses employee performance issues and enforces policies and procedures; ensures employees are qualified in all material handling equipment
- Maintains warehouse inventory; assists with cycle and annual inventory counts in accordance with established inventory control procedures
- Negotiates shipping rates with transporters to acquire best rates for LTL, Truckload and Parcel shipments
- Schedules freight companies for shipments and deliveries; verifies counts and inspects incoming and outgoing product notifying Purchasing of any discrepancies
- Maintains a clean, organized, safe work environment; enforces all safety policies and procedures
- Maintains all material handling equipment; ensures periodic maintenance is performed and equipment is kept in proper working condition
- Performs other duties as assigned
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- Three years warehouse experience, preferably in manufacturing, with progressively increased responsibility in shipping, receiving, inventory and materials management; college degree in preferred
- Strong working knowledge of warehouse management and inventory control
- One-year supervisory experience required; proven ability to build a team and motivate others to meet production demands
- Qualified to use material handling equipment
- Good communication skills and ability to work well with others
- Must obtain forklift certification within 2 weeks of hire
- Proficiency in MS Office, MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook; prior experience with warehouse software systems (i.e. QuickPAC, etc.) preferred
- Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, division, multiplication, fractions, etc.)
- Ability multi-task and meet deadlines in a fast pace environment
- Current state driver’s license and proof of insurability
