Jennifer Huerta, our State Blind Employee of the Year…
and nominee for the 2021 Artie Lee Hinds Award. Jennifer works as a Converting Machine Operator in our Hygiene department where we produce individual rolls of toilet tissue for state agencies. She has been with the stlb team since 2018, Jennifer and fellow nominees were honored on September 13, 2021 in Austin at the 2021 Artie Lee Hinds Award Nominees 14th Annual Award Celebration.
Sandra Rosales, our NIB Milton J. Samuelson Career Achievement Award Nominee…
Sandra has a BBA in Accounting and works in our Accounting department and has been with the company since October 2018 where she started as an Assembler/Packer in our production before being promoted into the Accounting department in December 2018. Sandra is an active member at her church Corpus Christi Christian Fellowship, she enjoys a home cooked meal from her mom to unwind from a long day at work.
Eli Torres, our NIB Peter J. Salmon Direct Labor Employee Nominee…
Eli works on our Binder line as a riveter, he is known as being one of the fastest riveters. Eli came to stlb through the Commission for the Blind in 2006. Eli like to travel with his family through Texas when he was able to still drive. Eli is part of a group that is for legally blind individuals, he has been in this group for 4 years, where they volunteer at the local Food Bank, bake sales, and car washes.
Sandra and Eli were supposed to go to Arlington, Virginia for the NIB EOY Nominee Banquet, but due to COVID this event has been canceled. Hopefully they will be able to make it to Virginia in the Spring were we can celebrate their nomination at the Nominee Banquet.
