Store/Warehouse Manager

Position Summary:

Responsible for all supervision, management of operations and the BSC Store and warehouse while serving and maintaining customer expectations. Meet sales and profit goals, maintain effective inventory levels through proper storage, receipt, issuance, shipment and protection of all material and equipment.  Ensures compliance with company policies and directives, blind labor requirements, the Ability-One Program, and MOA/Contract objectives.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Monitors sales and data to ensure financial objectives are met per goals and objectives
  • Maintain store staff by assisting HR with recruiting, selecting, orienting and training new employees; maintains blind employment staffing requirements; ensure all employees are trained in blindness awareness
  • Promotes and maintains outstanding customer service relationships with all customers, local contracting office and senior base leadership
  • Identifies current and future opportunities by establishing rapport with customers and other persons in a position to understand service requirements
  • Acquires and retains new customers both on and off base per local objectives
  • Supervises store staff to include scheduling, delegating, managing performance through coaching, counseling and feedback; training to understand operational requirements and the AbilityOne program
  • Protects employees and customers by providing a safe, clean and secure working and shopping environment
  • Monitors and maintains Essentially the Same (ETS) requirements and ensure an ETS free inventory
  • Performs and supervises inventory management by following standard operating procedures for order processing, receiving, and issuing of materials
  • Coordinates maintenance for building and equipment as required
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Required Experience

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Effective oral and written communications and leadership skills
  • Must be analytical and accurate with excellent problem solving skills
  • Detail oriented with the ability to effectively prioritize tasks
  • Ability to create appropriate written documentation
  • Hand trucks, forklifts, dollies, and pallet jacks.
  • Must be proficient using MS Office, MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook.
  • Must have a valid drivers license, a good driving record and be insurable
  • Must be able to obtain a green badge for deliveries

 

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Usual:        The working environment fluctuates between the air conditioned and carpeted store and a warehouse without air condition and with a cement floor. Temperatures in warehouse vary from approximately 40 degrees in the winter to 100 degrees in the summer.

Special:     Some exposure to weather and physical hazards.  Possible contact with hazardous materials. 

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Usual:        Must be able to occasionally exert up to 100 lbs. of force and/or lift up to 50 lbs. Requires ability to operate a forklift and pallet jack.

Special:     Lifting, bending, stooping, climbing, pulling and climbing ladders when moving items and materials. Individuals in this job will be on their feet or on the forklift approximately 90% of each day. Will need to help delivery driver on occasion.
