Guest Speakers

South Texas Lighthouse for the Blind welcomes the opportunity to speak to your company, civic group, class, or club.  By inviting one of our representatives to speak to your group, you will have the opportunity to learn not only about our organization as a whole, but to learn about vision loss in general and hear personal stories of triumph from people who are blind or visually impaired.

If you are interested, we can bring items to demonstrate how people who are blind or visually impaired are able to do things like use a computer, play games, read Braille, travel independently, etc.  Young students love the “hands-on” aspect of our presentations and it gives them the opportunity to learn more about vision loss.   We always leave enough time at the end of each presentation so that participants can ask questions.
